As a teacher former deputy head with twenty years classroom experience I co-write books that help learners of all ages become the best students they can be. Together with my co-author Steve Oakes, also a highly experienced teacher, I've interviewed hundreds of students at GCSE, A level and undergraduate study and asked them what it is they do to ensure they learn effectively and perform well. The results are sometimes astonishing, always fascinating.
In three books published by award-winning educational publisher Crown House, Steve and I explore the working lives of high-performing students across the UK.
How do they organise their time?
How do they set goals and stay motivated?
How do they revise for tests and exams?
What tricks help them respond positively to disappointment or critical feedback?
