Payback is 1!

Coming soon - September Shorts. It's a simple 30 day blogging project where I put some words down every day from September 1st to 30th, partly to keep me fresh and force some discipline, partly because an August almost entirely away from the laptop gets me itchy for further word-countage.

The posts won't be long ones, tho. They'll capture a moment or summarise a simple idea. And because my new book, Storycraft comes out sometime around August 2019 (co-written with the brilliant Jon Mayhew) some of the posts - about half, I reckon - will make some reference to the resources, activities and ideas in that book.

Aa-aanyway. Payback is one! Happy birthday, pal. Being one today, I expect you'll be covered in spit and cake, cacking your nappy and getting all colicky on us. Payback's had an exciting first year. Shortlisted for the Leeds Book Award, shortlisted for the North East Book Award, due out in Poland soon, and a whisker away from a BBC Studios deal... (boy, that was a tough one to see fall through,) it's been a blast.

Though if I'm honest mate, you're sort of yesterday's news, what with another novel on the way and a non-fic book out in sometime last week. I'll be removing the Payback banners and going all Storycraft on the blog's header when I can be arsed.

I know. Bet you can't wait.
